Gazelle Development

Gazelle has a vibrant development community that significantly enhances the platform through various contributions. This community not only develops external tools for validating transactions based on IHE profiles, such as Matchbox, and simulators like the XDS Toolkit and MHD Simulator from the NIST team, but also actively participates in creating new IHE profiles.

Additionally, tools not based on IHE profiles, such as the GDHCN Validator, are integrated with Gazelle. These collaborative efforts ensure that Gazelle continues to evolve and expand its capabilities, driven by the ongoing development and innovation from its community.

Gazelle offers several integration options to enhance and customize your validation processes:

The Validation Service API enables developers to integrate their own validators with Gazelle’s unified validation interface, EVSClient. This API outlines how to perform validations, including how to send validation requests, the expected format for results (validation reports), and the required metadata.
To assist developers, an example implementation is available through Swagger UI, which allows you to visualize and interact with request and response formats.

Testing and Deployment of New Gazelle Versions at Major IHE Events

Gazelle traditionally releases two major updates annually, which are tested during the European (EU CAT) and North American (NA CAT) Connectathons. These major IHE events serve as the initial testing ground for these new versions, ensuring their stability and effectiveness before they are adopted more widely.

After being tested at the Connectathons, these new versions are further integrated and evaluated in Projectathons, where they are applied in more specific testing scenarii.
